Keep Holding On

I know it's been a while but I finally finished a new rap song called "Keep Holding On". This idea has been brewing in my mind for a long time. I wrote it in response to the gay suicides that have occurred in the past year. I was very fortunate to have a great family and friends that I used as a support system, but it saddens me deeply that others don't get the same luxury. I can't understand feeling like there is no other option besides taking your own life ... that just aint right. I also always turned to music whenever I was in a dark place ... it was my beacon of light (all pun intended). I wanted to write something that could possibly help someone realize they arent alone. Being gay is definitely something I struggle with but I promise things do get better ... other people will come around. Ignorance plays a huge role in these tragedies. If more gay people spoke up and out more people would realize how common homosexuality is. I mean anybody ... a mother, a brother, a son, a co-worker, a police man, a doctor, a football player could be gay. I hope this song gets heard and helps! Funkified Version Of "Bridge The Gap"

What's the deal everybody? I went back into the home studio of Adam Pfeffer and we re-worked our "Bridge The Gap" track and created a more funkified version. Check it out on my music myspace page (link to the right)!

I also decided that I am going to purchase the 2 beats I wrote lyrics to over Labor Day weekend.

A Capella Songs Up On My Music Myspace

Just wanted to let everybody know I put up the 5 new a capella country rock style songs on my music myspace page. Please please please go and check them out and let me know which ones are your favorites. Remember just to keep in mind those are just demo versions. In fact I am going to the studio tonight and will be re-recording a bunch of tracks to infuse more of a live more assertive tone in my presentation.

Just as a lil side note ... I have been working with a couple of beats and I have 2 concept hip hop/rap songs in the works "Beacon of Light" and "Try".

I will be persistently going out and performing the next couple of months here in San Diego trying to sell cds and create a bigger fanbase as well as some money which will help me gage if a northwest tour/roadtrip would actually be semi-successful and practical.

If everybody I know told 1 person they know about me and they retroactively did the same I would be famous in waaaaay less than a year. I'm not looking to be a mega rich superstar but I do want to help influence, inspire, and help people through my words.

I wanted to give people an update on what I have been doing. I have recently been spending time organizing my poems into chapters and deciding on what poems I am going to be publishing in my book. Altogether right now my book will have 4 chapters (the first is what has been previously written, posted on this site and put to cd. I have also decided to keep the poetry and songs separate leaving 24 poems in each chapter and I will have an EP album of about 6-10 country-rockish a capella songs which I will be working on recording soon. Which brings me to my next update, I will be trying to record videos of all my poems and also put them online. I will also be continueing trying to collaborate with other musicians/producers in mixing my material putting it to music mainly to provide online for my fans for free on myspace and facebook. I bought 100 blank cds and 100 sleeves to burn my a capella cd on, however I have to fix the "Wuuu Saa" poem as I left out a line on the final recording and being the anal OCD perfectionist I am, I want to fix it.
